More Times "Out of the Past":
· 100 yrs ago - The Biglerville Town Council Leased a lot in the Borough to the Fire Company for a Period of 99 YEARS at a Rental of 5¢ per year! Since the Fire Company just Celebrated their 100th Anniversary - Did they Re-Negotiate their Lease with the Borough???
· 75 Years Ago - Backyard Turkey Raising as a hobby has grown in Gettysburg Borough, and a 1939 Study shows around 500 Turkeys in and about the Borough... I'm sure that the Borough Nixed THAT fun - but it appears that a few Old Turkeys evidently survived

So, Seriously, I wonder if they DID Re-Negotiate their Lease with the Borough Since the Fire Company just Celebrated their 100th Anniversary. Can you imagine if they decide to re-negotiate at a rate that is comparable to today's going leases? Does anyone know? Hell, even the 5¢ is probably like, what, $200 in today's money?

Venter, the Biglerville Fire Department moved out of that building several years ago, so they would have been foolish to continue at even five cents a year. But of course being community minded, they probably keep up the payments

But, I hope they did keep up the payments in their absence Of course, if it was ME, I would have sublet the building for a couple hundred a month.
