Found this on line and thought a little strange. Founded in 1978, Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Inc. is a small cemetery developer & manager in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It has 4 full time employees and generates $700,000 in annual revenue. Wow, that's a nice chunk of change!

I would like to interrupt your regularly scheduled bitching and moaning, to commend Sheppard's Groundskeeping of Gettysburg. The Sheppard's crew went to Oak Lawn Cemetery and cut the lawn so those visiting their loved ones and Veterans would not have to wade through the tall grasses. I actually passed the Cemetery, and noticed how nice it looked - before even reading the article and realizing who was responsible. These people need to be appreciated for their good deed. I don't know if they were paid to do so, but even if they were, it was a gargantuan task. The article in the Times mentioned that they did it at the request of Cumberland Township Police Chief Don Boehs, but I didn't see mention of payment. Also, special thanks goes out to Chief Boehs for taking the initiative, and asking for this to be done. A lot of people have been upset by the Oak Lawn fiasco, and it is gestures like this that actually give me a renewed faith in mankind. Thanks again to all who were involved. Sheppard's Groundskeeping doesn't show a website, so this link will have to suffice: www.yellowpages.com/gettysburg-pa/mip/sheppards-groundskeeping-1231584
