Every time I think there is progress there is regression. Yesterday was wonderful and today was not. Would I be a really horrible person if I stopped visiting? Loneliness is eating me up. What a lousy holiday weekend. Holy Trinity on me at 2:00 Sunday afternoon if you'll join me! I'll check back here around 1:30 to see if you want to come. If not I am going to go home and mow grass so I doubly hope you accept my offer. You're probably through mowing grass by now and I'm ready to scream in frustration. My daughter called me early this morning to tell me what I'm doing wrong with my mother. So, I went to see Mom and spent several hours with her and then went grocery shopping. I didn't log on until just a few minutes ago and found your message. Damn!!! I could have used that beer and some company. You really need to call me when you'd like to meet for a beer. I'd be there before the warmth of your hand faded from the phone. Next time? Soon!

I actually forgot to take my computer to golf today so showed up just in case you were there as i could not check. Perhaps after work sometime this week.

I work until 4:30 and could be there in about 5 minutes or so. If it works for you it will work for me. I can go to see Mom after I visit with you for a bit.

By the way, my daughter came in from DE today to straighten things out with Mom. I had no idea that in a combined care facility patients aren't required to do anything they don't want to do. If they ask her if she wants to get out of bed and she says "no" that's it. Karla is writing orders that Mom be told she is getting out of bed and she will go to the dining room for meals and she will stop lying in bed.
I beg, cry, plead and Mom doesn't give a rat's ass. Karla says you will do as I say and Mom jumps.
Do you ever get the feeling that you could sit in a chair and slowly fade away and no one will ever notice that you've gone? If so, welcome to Lindaland; the land of hopelessness and despair.

Hang in there T. Seniors are just like having kids and just as frustrating. Still, having them around is still better than not. More prayers coming.

Thank you, I'm trying but I feel as if I'm slipping. The staples were removed this morning but now she's back in the hospital. The doctors determined that she needed a couple of units of blood. I just wish that I knew more about elder care and more about what I should or shouldn't do. Karla is so in control, authoritative, commanding and I'm a mess.

As far as I know right now, my mother will be coming home sometime Tuesday.
Hopefully she'll stay healthy for awhile and I can relax for a bit.

I brought my mom home Thursday afternoon. She's well; I need a stiff drink. Seriously, she is pain-free for the first time in well over a year. She's weak, unsteady and milking the "take it easy for a few days" for all it's worth but that's fine.

My mother is now at the Lutheran Home and will be there for about two weeks. She began physical therapy yesterday. She is in good spirits most of the time. I don't check on here often enough... I hope she recovers quickly...my step-dad had a hell of a time after...

FormerT, drinking Red Bull, now that would be interesting. I offered to buy her a round of Red Bull but only if she chased it with a shot of Southern Comfort - she declined my offer. She's no kind of party gal. ;D

I hope it goes well Thank you play4 bingo. Mom is doing well. She still relies on a walker too much (she actually fell off it and had to call 911 to help her up from the floor). I'm trying to convince her to to use a different walker or two canes and build her strength. Of course, the reason she has recovered so well is due to stubborness so she doesn't listen to me. She has no pain which is a blessing. If this is the end of problems for the year I am grateful. Thank you so much for your kind words. With my daughter grown up and living in another state Mom is my lifeline.
