One of the things I told my listeners on the day I resigned from the radio station was I hoped there would be some outlet available to the many wonderful clubs, groups, and organizations in the community to get their word out in the future. After taking some time off( my first vacation in 2 years), I'm here to let you know "Freddie is Back". Beginning in March I will be writing a feature column in the "New" Gettysburg Times called "Around Town". It will be about all of you..people who make Adams County great... Will I poke fun at people ? No question about it. Those who know me know I love "politicians".. I'll be dropping names of people in our community who should be recognized for their great work... maybe a kick in the pants to those who might need it. Most of all it will be an outlet for the wonderful groups and organizations to get the word out about their events... We will discuss everything.....food..entertainment..and not much will be "off limits". The new owners of the Times are good people. They are making a comittment to the community to make this "your newspaper". I'm looking forward to this new venture...

Hey Freddie, any word on when the dilapidated West Broadway Islands will be replaced? They are crumbling.

Hello, everyone!
I was fluttering around Borough Hall today, and Lt. Commander John Butterfield and Private First Class Susan Naugle are very, very, very, very worried about Fred Snyder getting involved again with the media. They never liked him because he uncovered the truth...now he's back! They never liked Fred because he held them accountable.
Its about to get interesting again in Gettysburg.
Tweet, tweet!

let's not knock individuals with a "piled higher and deeper" degree! It is recognition of one's persistence, not always intelligence.

Good luck with your new opportunity, Fred. I always loved your Borough Show, and who could forget the time Susan Starr Paddock quit your program in the middle of an interview.
I notice your old 'partner in crime' Scot the 'Pitbull' Pitzer is back covering sports. Look forward to reading your feature column.

Maybe you can look into what is going on with OZ up on High Street. If reports are true, sounds like the borough is going to have even more union issues.

Is this a part-time gig for Scot or did he leave the employ of Sen. Alloway and return to the newspaper world? The Times is not where I would hang my hat until the turmoil settles down but . . .

Just a quick note about the "New" Gettysburg Times. I've been following it closely since the new owners assumed control. I think the new News Editor Alex Hayes is doing a great job in filling the first three pages with "local" news instead of the same old stale AP stories in the past that one could get off the internet. Good job Alex... Keep up the good work, really is looking like a local paper should.

Nice picture on the front page. Looking forward to the first article. It is a shame last group never gave the "Nook" a little press. And Spin Doctor, you are right no more AP on the front page. Cindy, Tom and BJ would never recognize the new Gettysburg Times.

Today's Around Town: Freddy mentions a Harpist that plays at the Hospital once a week.
You'd better get your fill of Harp music HERE Fred, because as you alluded to - you won't be hearing it later ;D

By the way, Butterfield in no way realizes that Scot Pitzer was robbed of an appointment to Council... as instrumental as he most likely was in getting Chuck Teague appointed.
There's no WAY he wants someone as responsible and knowledgeable as Pitzer on the Council to challenge his backwards ways.

After reading today's "Around Town", sounds like newest appointee to council, Chuck Teague continues his one man wrecking crew. First he goes after 'Bike Week" with no authority from council. Next he publishes "Letter to the Editor" representing it comes from entire council without their approval. Now he becomes Code Enforcement liaison without permission. BUT DON'T WE LIVE IN A SPECIAL PLACE? I wonder why we even pay staff. I think a better system would be; John Butterfield - Manager/Police Chief, Susan Naugle - Attorney/Town Orator, Chuck Teague - Code Enforcement, Motorcycle Enforcement, Special Place Enforcer, Michael Birkner - World Wide Ambassador, Graham Weaver - Court Idiot, Rocking Chair Expert, Jake Schindel - Rec, Fitness, Kyle Leinbach - current media. Save us tons of money.

I've seen two letters to the editor from Chuck Teague over the past few weeks, how many are council members permitted to submit? Did he receive permission from council? It seems like the inmates are running the asylum!

And Freddy was doing so good, until... It's the Apple BLOSSOM Festival in May! You had it right at the top, and by the end, you changed it to "Harvest". But, I'll forgive you because of your age. Just think of all those people expecting fresh picked apples

Today, Fred mentions that he has been invited to appear in the next movie installment - "Route 30 Three". I understand that the films are now in Wide-Screen, and that's a good thing - actually essential in Fred's case But if this damned thing is in 3D, then count me out!
