Take just a few minutes from your busy schedule on Sunday February 23rd, and meet some heroes and thank them for all they have done for us.
The Legion Auxiliary in Gettysburg Post 202 will be honoring WW II Vet from the Gettysburg/Adams County area on Sunday February 23, 2014. The program is at the Post home (528 E Middle Street, in Gettysburg) between 2 and 4 p.m. It is anticipated that there will be about eighteen WW II Veterans present. Check out the display case in the lobby of the legion for some pictures of our local WW II veterans. What a golden opportunity for you and your family (kids and grandkids) to socialize with members of the “greatest generation”. Come and support the auxiliary in honoring our WW II Vets.
There will be some re-enactors displaying their WW II gear, and period music as you enter the building. All the WW II Vets will be introduced, along with a few words about their service during WW II.
Please stop by, shake some hands, offer these veterans a smile and say thank you. They will deny they did anything, but we all know different.
