It's been a few days. I'm surprised that there have been no remarks about the Boston Bombing. Just saw the Photos of the possible suspects on CNN. A couple of young men. The first thing I thought about the other day, is that it was somehow related to April 15th being Tax Day. I thought it might have been some sort of wacko Tax Revolt by some disgruntled nut job. It is Boston after all - home of the Boston Tea Party. Hopefully there will be some better images of these assholes so they can be caught quickly. Still wondering why surveillance cameras insist on shooting from ABOVE the eye level of people Haven't they figured this out yet? If they are not locals, then someone just sold them a couple of Ball Caps

Are you sure you're not barack obama (that was what he suspected, too, or at least said he did hoping that the perps wouldn't be followers of the religion of peace - the first part his words, the last part mine)?
But it turns out to be (at this point, with the suspects throwing bombs at the police and shooting back at them before one assumed room temperature) chechnyan region islamists.
My money would've been on that (though I never would've guessed two chechnya region types would expend their lives here when they could've instead wasted themselves on something russian.
If it was a tax nut, they would've targeted government, not bystanders at a marathon.
The shame of it is there are what...hundreds of thousands, a million two? however many muslims in this country who are going to get continued religious association with terrorist nutjobs when they have no interest other than chasing the same american dream the rest of us do.
Of course ... the news so far hasn't relayed anything except where they're from (emigrated to russia from chechnya and ended up here for the last year...legally), but i'm extrapolating to islamists because we don't get too much terrorist traffic from russia at the non-government level that is orthodox or secular. Chechens already have a reputation.

Who would have thought Chechnyans? "Russia's North Caucasus region has been plagued by an Islamic insurgency stemming from separatist wars in Chechnya."
So it doesn't get more Caucasian than this!
So they're pissed with their country and they take it out on US? Do they think that this will aid their plight by bringing it to our attention like this? WTF?

Revised story now about the brothers seems to suggest at least one of them was here for 10 years or more. Not that it makes a difference at this point, but they are muslim as I had suspected earlier, though there's no great reason unless someone finds something of theirs written somewhere to determine that being muslim had anything to do with their motives.
Doesn't make a lot of sense why the younger brother got in on the plot, or even the older one (who had said he liked the US in various interviews). But sense or not, when they're dispensing more bombs overnight while they're on the run, it makes it hard to say "ghee, based on their schooling, goals and quotes from them, it makes it seem like it might not be them".
Given that the carnage is suspended at this point, the thing I dread most is a round of extremely stupid made for TV movies, as well as a round of CSI, Glee, etc and other shows that have sample bombers in them and various twists of farce drama (including the overused "well, we americans are pigs and thats why everyone hates us" angle).

If there's one thing the FBI may have learned from this... Get the Photos and Videos out IMMEDIATELY! This is the "America's Most Wanted" school of thought. I'm pretty sure that the suspects know that they are suspects, and they know what their own face looks like. It's in everyone's best interest to know who they are looking for. A million eyes are better than a few. I can understand the "Delay" in "Live Feeds" from the Media. If the suspect has an IPhone, he could effectively watch where each individual law enforcement officer was located as they moved - very dangerous. But, when competing news stations try to "do the right thing", why does one seem to push the envelope. Case in point: While I watched the "Live/Delay Feeds" from CNN and MSNBC, the Producer of CNN was very secretive about the type of structure that the suspect was hiding in. The MSNBC crew was babbling on about the BOAT, and all of the photos they could find to broadcast. They even had an image from their "Bing", of the house and boat from the front. So much for keeping it "secret". Anyway, he is caught. I'll be surprised if we find out anything substantial from this 19 year old. Unless his parents can convince him to come forward, he'll probably keep quiet. His older brother probably coerced him, and I'm sure that the kid brother didn't want to disappoint big brother. Who knows?

In my opinion we shouldn't overlook the fact that people died and were injured because of these terrorist actions. Bottom line. If he could participate in these actions he isn't some innocent kid who got caught up in something he didn't want to get caught up in.
