Be on the lookout for a fairly recent pc virus which will disable and lock up your computer. It's called the FBI virus(ths is NOT a joke!)and the page which takes over your homepage looks very official with appropriate US and FBI logos. Money is demanded based on the fact thay you have a copywrite law and need to pay a fine. Despite 3 different anti-spam, anti- virus, etc security groups which I use, the doggone thing got thru and disabled my pc for 4 days. Of course, several different companies/ computer mechanics, offered to repair the damage for hundreds of dollars. I selected Norton, who solved the problem after a few days of restoration. (HP wanted $180, a free ride in my boat, my new elephant hide boots and my hunting dog, for the repair. I declined, as my elephant has athelete's foot.) Norton did it for 1/3 of that and guaranteed the job. "Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the show?" Snow finally quit falling up here in the Boondocks and we have peas, lettuce, beets, onions, broccoli and beans pushing up the dirt nicely. My little (Gettysburg) Magnolia is blooming proudly despite ripping it out of the rocky dirt in Heidlersburg! Hi to all and we will try to get down for the bluegrass fest. Tim and Diane.

What would Norton want with 1/3 of your elephant hide boots and what the heck are you gonna do with the remaining 2/3? Think before you say bargain, Buddy.

BPH, How did Norton fix the issue? Did you have to send the computer to them, or were you able to connect through the internet, and have them do it remotely? Should we even be talking to you? You may be contagious!

Not a virus but Malware. Install Malwarebytes and pay $25 for a lifetime license and you'll be golden. Not like Gene though. www.malwarebytes.org

Norton solved the issue both thru the phone with me pushing buttons to their(Phillipines) experts direction, and also restoring my computer via internet. Will try the malwarebytes, redlock; thanks.Gene, the doctor at the home says I'm all better and gave me papers to prove it! And I can get out on weekends , now, too! Did you ever have to bite down on a taped up tongue depressor? Golly, I hated those things!! And those funny earphones gave me headaches for days!...
