The primary election is quickly approaching. Below is a link and the video to the unedited recording of the 2013 Adams County Sheriff’s Forum held at the Cross Keys Village: youtu.be/Y88ni7wiWwQ

It was a forum for the residents of Cross Keys and Sheriff Muller did an excellent job explaining the untruthful information his opponents are putting out there - Mr. Dayton thinks this is Baltimore City and wants to be an "Administrator of the Office" and raise your taxes by hiring more staff - He unfortunately does not understand the obligations of the Sheriff - it is totally different than MD. Dayton & Redding are running around with incorrect information from a Budget submitted almost 2 years ago - they have not checked that it has been changed.

Response to @ sunshine post,(Mrs. Sheriff?)
I had contacted Mr. Dayton as to his assertions, in the forum. I was very impressed! He sent me a copy of all his referenced material! A couple items are quoted below:
Quote from the Gettysburg Time – Friday, July 13, 2007: In reference to the motorcycle:
“He [Muller] plans to use it March through October for serving warrants and other general duties,” county solicitor John Hartzell said Wednesday during the regular weekly commissioners meeting.” “You’re talking the difference between 20 miles per gallon (in the car) and 50 miles per gallon (on the motorcycle),” Muller said. Two officers - Muller and Deputy Jacob Nelson – already have motorcycle licenses, and will use the bike.”
Where the heck are you going to put a prisoner on a motorcycle?!?!?!
Quote from Sheriff’s 2012 Tax Budget page 94 - 95: “A major impact of the shortages in staffing is the fact of Magisterial District Justice warrants and other Court-issued warrants going un-served. Currently, there is a backlog of nearly 8,000 outstanding warrants. Worse, this backlog has been growing over the past three years. In January 2009, the number was 6,083. At the end of 2010 the number had increased to 7,729. As of September 19, 2011, that number has grown to 7,922.
Without adequate staffing, the Sheriff’s Office cannot successfully initiate a concentrated effort aimed, at reducing this backlog resulting in wanted individuals and criminals remaining at large. That is a public safety issue.
To at least partially address this situation, our FY-2011 Budget submission includes a request for: 1. One full time Deputy Sheriff’s position. 2. One civilian clerical position (S-3). 3. The institution of an “On Call Deputy” program.
After listening to Sheriff Muller speak, watching this forum, and contacting Mr. Dayton who backed up his statements with documented paperwork. I believe Mr. Redding was correct in his allegation that Mr. Muller is good at one thing “smoke and mirrors.”
I am questioning Muller integrity. I read his ad in the Lake Heritage Newsletter where he stated he was a US Marshal then, I heard him speak at the Littlestown Fish and Game Association, he was asked by a member, “When were you a US Marshal and why did you leave?” His response was “I was never a US Marshal, we work with them sometimes.”
I cannot believe a word that Sheriff Muller says at this point. For a sheriff it is important that he be completely upfront and honest with the people he serves. That’s a problem. It is obvious to me that Dayton; who graduated from a PA Police Academy, was a law enforcement officer in PA, is a veteran, has by far the most education and experience of all the candidates is the best choice.
I am going to vote for him.

To: redlockYes, Copy and paste… Sorry, if that bothers you. Spell-Check, and Grammar Check, are wonderful tools! Unless it is just a short answer to question on a posting, I go offline and write in Word, all my larger responses. Especially, when using, reference material, saved on my PC. Helps me to focus on what I have to say. I also can refer to what I have previously posted. I wish more people would do this, maybe their thoughts, would be easier to ascertain. Or at least, be concise and to the point. v/r @ myowndrum

I wished that I would have had time to watch the forum. I think one needs to understand that this is a political platform, and candidates will spin their positions to make it look like anything you want it to look like. A savvy voter needs to look underneath the layers to gain that kernel of truth that's stuck under there. What struck me about your comments was the 8000 backlog of outstanding warrants. Yes, that sounds terrible, but if you really looked at what those warrants were you may discover that only a small number of those warrants are criminals who may pose a threat to public safety. Do you really want the sheriff's department to concentrate on knocking down those thousands of warrants to fill our county jail with "scofflaws" whose only "crime" may be an unpaid parking ticket, an unpaid traffic fine, or some other minor offense? Some of these warrants may be for people who are long since outta Dodge so to speak. Do you really want to go to Florida to serve a warrant for someone who was pulled over for speeding in Adams County and just never paid the fine? I think our financial resources could be put to better use by prioritizing the outstanding warrants and go after the real criminals, and let Karma deal with the others. And that's my two cents for the day.

It is no suprise that myowndrum has so much info - He is a friend of Mr. Dayton's - But since Mr. Dayton lost the election due to his untruthful information - lets get some facts straight - The Motorcycle was donated for $1.00 per year - where is the expense there and it was never stated it would be for transporting prisoners ?? If Mr. Dayton knew anything about a Budget - he would have known it is submitted early in the previous year for the coming year - His "8,000 Warrants" was from early 2011 - 2 years ago, the number certainly has changes as one would expect. He also does not know what the Sheriff Deputies are responsible for - they do not have endless hours to devote to warrants - they do an excellent job with everything. Mr. Muller was deputized as a Deputy US Marshall under the previous Sheriff along with 2 other Deputies - so he is telling the truth. Mr. Dayton should know that if he worked in the Warrant Unit for 11 years. But he needed something to attack Sheriff Muller on. Thanks to all the voters who could seperate fact from fiction - TRUTH PREVAILS!!! Mr. Redding has NOTHING!! He is the Smoke & Mirrors!! Congrats to Sheriff Muller for doing a fine job for this County - He is a man of integrity and knows how to do his job!! Don't be suprised if "myowndrum" supports Mr. Redding.
