Again, since Moose is too lazy and cheap to buy the paper, he probably missed publisher Harry Hartman's comments about the county's decision to hire Mr. Clark. www.gettysburgtimes.com/opinion/staff_columns/article_8307d510-7019-5229-8d8f-8946647b1906.htmlCongratulations to Stan Clark on being named the new director of veterans affairs for Adams County. If there was ever a job perfect for a person or a person perfect for a job, it is Stan and the Veterans Affairs post. I am not sure you can attend a veterans or military event in Adams County that Stan is not present at or had played a large part in organizing. Stan is a U.S. Marine who also coordinates the Sgt. Mac Memorial Scholarship program, the National Wreath Project at both Gettysburg and Quantico National cemeteries and the Wounded Warrior Bike event. Stan and his staff at the Veterans Affairs office will do a great job representing the interests of our true American heroes. I also believe Stan's proudest accomplishment in regard to being named to this position is that he was chosen by his peers; the board that helped select Stan for the position included four military veterans. Stan, if those guys are backing you, all of Adams County should trust that you were the right person for the job. - Harry Hartman

He sounds like he will do a good job. Better than those who were in there? Who knows, but I wish him well. As for being cheap and lazy...I don't think that applies. I am selective where I spend my money. I do have piles of old (recent) Gburg Times at home to discard if you'd like them. My wife is after me to get rid of them.

Seems like the only two people in the midstate who oppose this decision are Moose and Paul Kellett.

Never said I opposed the hiring of Stan Clark, I just said the statement of it being fact was unconfirmed. Without knowing all or even some of the facts I do not think that a declaration of fact either way can be issued.

Seems like the only two people in the midstate who oppose this decision are Moose and Paul Kellett. I never saw that Paul opposed this decision. Matter of fact I never said I opposed it. The only thing I said was that I saw this coming before anyone else ever conceived it, possibly before Mr. Clark even handed in his application. I hope Mr. Clark does well in the new position. I've already stated that. No, I don't quite agree with how everything went down, it seems to me that the former employees COULD HAVE BEEN pushed out. Was it to make room for Mr. Clark? Beats me, but it could be possible. Election time is nearing and what better than to have your Campaign Manager at an arms length for the best part of each day. Once the campaign is over, it is plausible that someone could submit a RTK Request for Mr. Clark's emails and phone call record...you know, just to make sure everything remains kosher. We (I) wouldn't want our public resources to be misused now, would we? That is how you keep your public servants accountable; what is the famous quote? Trust, but verify? And, I'm sure he and his buds will be reading this, so they have advance notice to keep their noses clean. See how nice I am to give them a heads-up. There I go again...conspiracies, conspiracies. I'm not one to take everything at face value, particularly when they originate from elected/nominated officials. If you all are comfortable accepting everything that all your public officials tell you, then shame on you, you're part of the problem. PREDICTION TIME: Now, I'll go out on another limb, now. Let me look into my crystal ball....it's getting clearer....hmmm....what do I see....? I see the Honorable Judge that is handling my case. What else do I see? I see the Judge's First Cousin getting ready for his Re-Election campaign. Now I see my case sitting on the Honorable Judge's desk, collecting dust. Now I see the Primary coming....and going. Next the General Election....coming and going. All the while my case is sitting on the Honorable Judge's desk. Why would my case sit idly collecting dust? Hmmm....Civil cases are at the Judge's discretion with how they proceed. They can sit for years, as I expect this one could do, until the Honorable Judge or his First Cousin retires. In the meantime all the injustices continue on 90% of the county's real property owners. All that's required in a civil case is a Preponderance of the evidence, meaning the scales of justice need to tilt ever so SLIGHTLY in favor of one of the parties. So, let's see if I'm right on this one. I'm reaching into my bag of tricks to get this thing going, but only Venter and Paul knows how hard my path has become. When the referee is from the home team, it's much more difficult to come out with a victory. A Judge in Pennsylvania is not legally required to recuse himself because of third-degree relations, BUT if there is ANY Conceivable potential of bias, he should. How's that for a conspiracy? I could've just hurt my case...or, I could have helped it. Does Bias exist, or not? Either way, let's get the show on the road, so I can appeal it to the next level. Let me get my shot at an impartial court. Only time will tell the tale on this one...welcome to Adams County. Trust, but verify.

Hello everyone!
I ws fluttering round the County Courthouse today and was able to confirm that the allegations insinuated by Moose are simply innuendo and misinformation!
First of all, Commissioner Phiel's "campaign manager" was Dr. Bradley Hoch, not Stan Clark. You'll notice that Moose ignores this fact.
Last time I checked, Dr Hoch is one of the most respected physicians and historians in the region. Unfortunatley, if you read the Hanover Sun's online coverage or spreadthemustard, this simple fact is remiss in their conspiracy theory.
Mr Clark was Commissioner Phiel's "honorary campaign chairman" and that is not a surprise, given Mr Clark's consistent contributuons to the community.
Tweet, tweet!

Bird Brain, you forgot to add that Mr. Phiel's oldest son Shaun also served as day-to-day campaign manager. Campaign Manager, Honorary Campaign Manager, day-to-day campaign manager....whatever.
Sure, I have my detractors. One of the most vocal was Party Pooper (who used to taunt me with derogatory emails) until I sent him a GIS shot of his 10.01 acre Ag-Use approved parcel and promised to make it my next pretty farm. Never heard back from him (and, I never kept my promise). He probably still wonders how I figured out his identity.

PREDICTION TIME: Now I see my case sitting on the Honorable Judge's desk, collecting dust. Now I see the Primary coming....and going. Next the General Election....coming and going. Alright, I missed this one. As you know the Court responded, much sooner than I predicted. However, if you follow the mustard, you'd see that I also predicted that the NEW Veterans Affairs Director would get an office next to his ole buddy, Randy. This has come to fruition, so mark me up another one. The former Veteran Affairs employees were to share space with Human Resources...what happened to that? The scoop is that he's not in the office much though. Hearsay warning: According to one Vet, the Director said, "you can do as much online, as I can do in the office". Hey, what did you expect for 31k?
