I talked with a friend today who is a NCG supporter. He told me that he has donated hundreds of $$ to NCG and gambling is a tax on the stupid.
No lie very next sentance he told me that he recently visited a casino and played black jack and craps.
He also informed me that Levan has bought everyone who supports him. So I asked him about the money NCG recieved from CWPT who's head has family ties to a competing casino. Not true he said....
Heres the real kicker he claims that the same pro casino people who are for the casino don't want anything else in Gettysburg. Yes you read that right he said WE are the ones who don't want anything else here.
I pointed out to him the water parks Susy and Violet ate so much along with the stores they oppose. He said that isn't true either they are fine with them because they are family friendly.
It's quite funny how mis-guided some of their supporters are.
He also told me he was at a NCG meeting of the minds before the PGCB hearing and that Jim Paddock said he couldnt wait to hear me and Gene golden speak. I guess I disapointed Jim by not comming. ;D

"Don't worry about facts and truth, just tell them what they want to hear to get them to sign." And what is wrong with a tax on stupidity? I feel if someone is dumb enough to want to do anything let them.

He said "NAWWWW" I respect his opinion but it was pretty funny how wrong was on quite a few things and how actually acussed pro's of things and positions on issues that were clearly things NO's had said and postions they had taken.

Yes many are misinformed. I can remember from the last time when I was working in Gettysburg at one of the tourist shops, the number of tourist who informed me that the casino was going to be right on the national Park. When I would show them a map and indicate where the casino would be I was told that I had no idea what I was talking about. I have no problem with someone being against the casino as long as they are basing it on good information. But when the decision is made based on lies that pisses me off.

his only opinion is that he doesnt want a casino near his home. I can understand/respect that its just when he tried to regurgitate NCG spew and has half of it wrong or backwards I think its funny.
He would be against the casino with or with out NCG

He would be against the casino with or with out NCG And I agree, I have one neighbor who opposes it for just that reason, and he admits that he does not agree with anything that the NCG group has put out. And I have to love him because he will agree with almost every point I bring up, but just doesn't want it close to his home. And as you say I can respect that. After all he probably lives closer to it than any of those who speak out strongly against it. And he also admits that although he doesn't want it, he makes it clear that he wants no part of NCG.

Spellchecker, I am confused, your "friend" said that gambling is a tax on the stupid? I thought that you make your lliving gambling? What kind of "friend" tells a person that they way they support their family is "stupid", as long as it is legal. With friends like that who needs enemies!

I don't gamble for a living weekender. It's impossible for anyone to "gamble" for a living. The only viable way to be profitable long term is in game of skill. football, chess, checkers, backgammon and poker are games of skill when you have an edge over the person you play against you will win more than you lose.
Strip tickets, slot machines, black jack and roulett there is no way to have an edge with out cheating. So that is gambling because wether you win or lose is totaly based on random luck.

I never thought of it that way, but it sounds totally logical. There is a huge difference between poker and the others you mentioned, you have some control over what happens... So your "friend" makes that distinction?
