In the latest blog entry by No Casino Gettysburg Consultant Keith Miller: Quantity is important, but the quality of the commentary matters as well. With all due respect to the sincerity and enthusiasm of Gene Golden's BoroVENT or his daughter's Adam's County Youth Collective, it is impossible to place them on a par with the Adams County Rescue Mission or Adams County Farm Bureau. While it is clear that many casino supporters desperately desire "good jobs" and "tax relief", their paucity of written and spoken input on these topics, beyond the bumper sticker slogan, is proof that the argument was too thin to expound upon. Those opposing a Gettysburg casino commented upon Mason-Dixon's ineligibility as a locals casino for a resort license, and poor business plan, and concerns including moral, religious, protecting existing jobs, proximity to the battlefield, reverence for veterans, social costs, traffic, water, sewer, and potential harm to existing heritage tourism industry. Several said they liked casinos just not one at Gettysburg.

I believe that most of their points were strongly disputed by Mason Dixon or one or more of the supporters. I think that at this time they are just patting each other on the back, and telling how they are all so superior to anyone else and how great they are.
I realize that I am not the master of the English language, or of numbers and statistics as Mr. Miller and Ms Paddock, but I think the case supporting was well represented by all. I have no idea why suddenly Mr, Golden and his family are the target of the NCG folks, maybe it is because they can’t get under anyone else’s skin so they are just looking till they can get someone to respond with the name calling and all that they have been doing on the public forms.
Taking the time to read many of the comments submitted, I noticed that probably 90% of the submitted comments opposing were form post cards, and form letters, with most of the remaining saying such things as “there is no room in Gettysburg for a casino”. Well I have to agree with that, I don’t believe there is anyplace IN Gettysburg for a casino.
And it was obvious that most had no idea what was going on as they referred to “building” a casino.
But when looking at those letters and comments from those supporting the issue, it was clear that each person wrote their own letter or comment, they were no carbon copies or cookie cutting in those letters. Each person presented those items that they felt were important to them and in a very good way.
I may be overly optimistic, but all things considered, I think Mason Dixon and those supporting it did very well and should be proud of what they said and how they presented themselves.

they are just trying to goad people it seems. I have a bad feeling they might not be so giddy in Jan. Not sure if any of you noticed but they never mentioned anything about the guy from PGCB being on public TV...............now why do you think that is? Perhaps because nothing he said was very good for or maybe because he made it apoint to note that the proximity is not an issue of importance to the PGCB

they are just trying to goad people it seems. In this case it seems to be the Goldens. The Goldens seem to be a huge target for NCG lately not sure why or if there is a reason but it's odd that they seem to be wanting to vigorsly attack them. I have a bad feeling they might not be so giddy in Jan. Not sure if any of you noticed but they never mentioned anything about the guy from PGCB being on public TV on their facebook page...............now why do you think that is? Perhaps because nothing he said was very good for them or maybe because he made it apoint to note that the proximity is not an issue of importance to the PGCB

Only statements like petitions of college professors and local ministers. On the website I noted numerous duplicates of local petition signers. Living in a small town its not hard to recognize certain names and then see them more than once, not in a different petition, but the SAME petition, copied.

Life saver I wouldnt be suprised if those people even signed the petitions. We all know NCG has a track record of forging them
