Well Comcast "Improved" their service. Now I have two televisions in my house that will not get the history, learning, discover or the food channels. What the hell am I going to watch?
Can't be fixed till Tuesday

I have Had Dish network for over 3 years now and can honestly say I have not had one problem with their customer service. Sure sometimes I lose signal during strong storms. but overall very happy with it.

DirecTV is the problem provider. Most of the complaints I hear are about them. Can you bundle Dish with CenturyLink?

I've thought about satellite but they lie even more than cable operators. Townie, that's not even remotely close to being true. Make the switch to DTV and you will never, ever look back. Comcast can eat my ass with a plastic spoon.

With these testimonials I guess that I can't go wrong by switching over.

ft,
My cousin works at the fcc and she told me the same thing you said about direct tv and vonage. I use both of those services and have been nothing but happy with them.
As far as I'm concerned direct tv is the best hands down. I've had comcast which is highly over priced for what you get vs satelite and vonage has been nothing but good to me also. As matter of fact the only problems I have had with vonage were a direct result of high speed interenet through comcast.
I think the reason that direct tv seems to get allot of complaints is for 2 reasons
A. they are the most widely used tv provider
B. people just dont understand what they should get/agreed on.
You get so many more channels through a standard package than you do with comcast. Every problem I have ever had with Direct tv they took care of very easily. If they do give you a fit just tell them you are going to switch to the dish and they will jump through hoops to get you satisfied.

I don't care about the number of channels I have but when Comcast removed CMT from our lineup the mama had a fit. That is what she watched during the day while I was at work. Guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and make a change.

FT, Comcast isn't even an option where I live, thank God. DirecTV for more than 10 years, AND a regular antenna. Never any complaints. Just got DISH bundled with Internet and phone for my parents to replace Comcast which was doing nothing but jerking them around. I think they have the most basic package with local channels for around $100/mo if you bundle all three.

I dumped Comcast a few years ago because they kept jacking up the rates about every year. Went to DISH and except for issues during a couple of severe storms (gods will... ) I've not had any real problems, and my rate held firm for about 4 years before a modest increase. Should at least consider DISH.
