www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42613518/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/?GT1=43001"In the most aggressive action yet to try to prevent Americans from gambling online, federal prosecutors on Friday charged three of the largest Internet poker companies with tricking banks into processing billions of dollars of illegal betting proceeds. Eleven people, including the owners of Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker and PokerStars, were charged with violating U.S. anti-Internet gambling laws, under an indictment unsealed by federal prosecutors in Manhattan."

Well kind of.......I have a large sum of money right now over sea's I will get it back just not sure how soon. I spent the weekend scouting area casino's. Right now my focus is getting the money that I had online back into the states. I have a few job offers so for the time being everything is ok and I plan to resume playing in a local casino soon and have options to fall back on if poker ever does become not profitable for me
My plan is to transition into a live pro which means I will play in brick and mortor casino's. I can't shed allot of light into much at this time, only that while what these companies did was wrong they shouldnt have ever had to resort to those means. This is a free country and if someone wants to play a game on their computer then that should be thier right.
it is important to note that playing poker is NOT illegal it is only banking transactions that appear between the off shore companies and our banks. This legislation was snuck into the safe ports act in 2006 by a religious elected official (that should make venter happy) he thinks he should have the right to moraly police people. Where the sites went wrong was telling the banks the money was coming from sales of golf balls, flowers jewlry and other things which in the U.S. is a federal crime. You can not lie to a bank about where money is coming from.
Basically right now im going to have to go from playing 1200 hands per hour to 30 hands per hour. While I was still an amature I played allot of live and did really well so I am confident that my results will still continue to support my family. It's pretty sad and I will miss being able to play from desk as well Pokerstars pumped quite a bit of money into THIS AREA last year through charity work I did in conjuntion with them. I don't have the exact figures anymore but I think in 4 months we helped raise something like 200K around here. We stopped because basically we had so many people asking me to come help with their charity events that pokerstars ran out of the budget we had planned for the whole year in 3-4 months.
From my point of view they were a good company and always went above and beyond to help out players.

Your job surely beats my carrying 10 gallon buckets of water out of my basement this weekend. I didn't earn diddley but the plumber and electrician are going to make out like bandits.
Good luck and I hope that you can keep on winning no matter where you play.

I blame my good swing on natural ability and the bad putting on my golf coach....... I'll keep you updated on the live poker. Two poker players from Westminster MD might be car pooling with me so that will help with the $4 a gallon gas.Now I just gotta hope there are allot fishies in WV wanting to give me their money. Now the wife is talking about possibly moving to Australia so I can keep playing online so who knows what the future holds

Good news is the feds are giving all us citizens their money back and are saying they never had any intention of freezing our money only the money of the site owners who were found to be doing bad things. I'm hoping to have a nice little bank wire hit my account next week.
