The problem is that my mother is nearly 85 years old, has a bad heart, breathing difficulties, etc. We went from the anesthesiologist refusing to take her on as a patient to telling her that he'll give her a spinal and light anesthesia. I'm not concerned as much about the procedure as I am her surviving the procedure. So, if you all meet when I'm not available please know that I'll be thinking of you. Mom is in good hands FT. All it took was having all involved parties talk to each other. And when her surgery is over I can also tell you that she will have the best nurses on the planet to take care of her. It is not unhealthy to be concerned over her health and the procedure, because there are risks and those risks must be discussed in order for your mom to give informed consent. There are things that can and do happen under the best of circumstances and through no fault of anyone. I just want you and mom to not worry that she will not get the best care that she can possibly get, she will. Sometimes when they have risk factors like your mom they spend a day or two with us just to be on the safe side. Don't be concerned if that happens.

This upcoming surgery has been the most difficult for both of us to face. If anything should go badly I know that it's not the fault of anyone; it will be what is meant to be. She's all that I have and my anxiety level increases every day. Watching her wince in pain when she moves is painful for me too. At least I'm proficient with the needle; she doesn't even feel it when I stick her. I have the utmost faith in the doctors and nurses at Gettysburg Hospital and I'm glad that she wasn't forced to go elsewhere for the surgery.

One big PLUS that I forgot to mention is that her surgery is planned, and not emergent.

I went there for lunch a few days back, the owners were incredibly pleasant, the food was good and sufficient for my small frame. While I was in there, I overheard another patron say that she wanted something not on the menu, and they said "no problem" and she had it as fast as a fast food place. If they keep up this level of service I am sure that they will be a success.

Oh, I'll try any place once, especially if it's a local one instead of a chain. The worse thing that can happen is that I'll say 'BTDT'. Low prices tend to talk me out of trying a place because I know they have to make something and if they have to cut down on the portions then what the use in going? Well, I finally had an opportunity to try the place today. We arrived at 9:30 and the place was full. Had to wait for a clean table and saw one other couple who came in after us leave instead of waiting for a table to be cleaned. The food was excellent. Could have eaten more potatoes but next time will order a side order also. Nancy's sandwich was big and cheap. Total bill for two including beverages came to 11.32. Well worth it. Glad we were able to show support for a local business
