I have been working in the area of the Fairfield Schools for the past 3 weeks and I have noticed that there are more private vehicles dropping off students then what there is riding on the buses. I hope no one complains about the school taxes in this district because you are your own problem. I would love to hear the reasons why the parents think they need to drive their kids to school. If there are any Fairfield folk on here which I know there are that have kids that go to school please let me know if you do your reason for taking your kids to school. I can really see a cost savings in your school taxes.

My kid goes to Fairfield and rides the bus but I don't see why a parent driving thier own kid to school would make their school taxes higher.
I know some people do it because they don't have to get up as early. I have to have my kid ready for school fed and out the door by 8am if youre a "rider" you can't be there before 8:45am. Some people don't like riding the bus. My wife for instance never rode the bus.

I am not sure how it would increase taxes either, if anything they would go down because the less kids riding the bus, the less busses the school will need to contract out for.
I do not live to far from the school and I always walked, just like Spellcheckers Wife, I hated riding the bus. Even when it was raining or cold outside, I would have rather walked.

The same number of buses will be needed unless there is more than one bus on the route or routes can be combined. Here in Sopranoland, the bids are based on everyone taking the bus because what you offer one, you have to be ready to offer all. So the only one benefiting financially from parents driving the 'little angels' is the bus company. Fewer stops and weight be carried means less fuel usage.

Thats exactly what I meant if you don't need that many buses then your not paying the higher taxes. Its about like the Freedom Transit bus line running those buses around for 3 people thats not fiscally minded. But if everyone feels the need to take their kids to school instead of using what you pay for then I guess that means there is alot of people in that district with disposable money.
