Tomorrow May 17th is primary election day. For those of you who are eligible to vote in the primary, exercise that right. Get out and vote early and vote often.

As an undeclared voter, I had to sit yesterday out and will be moving out of state before the newbies are seated but congratulations to all of you who voted and turned out a bunch of turnips. And let's hear it for the GASD voters who also decided enough was enough with the board leadership that's done such a "wonderful" job over the last few years.
Noted in passing: Pick "Rick" could only beat a non-candidate, no surprise to me at that result. Good luck if Jim Martin is elected, I think he's scary from some of his quotes that I've seen. As for job development - I think none of them have a clue about the issue. Let's see if they can propose something coherent in the run-up to November that is more informative than "I support economic development" platitudes.
I'm hoping that this sea change in the folks in charge at the Court House will have someone really look into the situation re the "Clean and Green" assessments to determine if some serious games have been played out there. Given that any illegal or inappropriate activity will most likely involve some heavy hitters in the county's economic and social structure, will the new commishes stand firm regardless of whose toes get put to the fire?

I was relatively pleased with the headline this morning except for seeing Jim Martin's name. He was at the polls when I went to vote yesterday. Absolutely no personality. Deadpan expression. He did not make a favorable impression on me.

I have to say that I'm shocked about Marty Qually. I'm sorry, I just don't think he's up for the task. I don't know this Martin guy, but he must have impressed folks at other places better than he did me at the last debate. I would have put him in second to last place on my scorecard with Stanley in last. Bizarre !!!

I am sure that if elected he will do his best, but I just don’t think he is ready for this job, and from some dealings I have had with him, there is just something about him I don’t like. I can’t put my finger on it, but everyone knows how they get those feelings about people from time to time. Once again, I will be faced with the choice between Qually and Martin and will have to look at which one will do the least harm to us.

My opinion: Marty will do the least harm. He doesn't seem to really want to lead, but more so to make folks feel good. My wife described Martin as mousey when hearing him at the last debate. I thought that was an interesting adjective.
