A few years ago I had my dad’s home movies converted to VHS, and just made the jump to DVD. I was looking at them today, and a lot of very interesting pictures of Gettysburg and the area from the 50s and 60s. Local scenery, with such things as parking on both sides of middle street, and a lot of town pictures. Quite a bit of the older Memorial day parades, and the dedication of the “new†American Legion facade on Baltimore street.
If any one would like to get together sometime for a few drinks and a few laughs, let me know. Unfortunately they also have a lot of pictures of a very cute little boy who I believe has grown into a very handsome but now much older man, but as soon as I learn to edit I will remove them and have just those of Old Gettysburg.

If you did not do it yourself, would you mind sharing where you had that conversion made. I have a similar VHS that needs to go to DVD and need to find someone to do it for me. Thanks in advance! PS those old home movies sure are fun to watch, aren't they!

Weekender,
I can recommend Jeff Bucher who lives out the Biglerville Road for the process. he has done some for my family over the years, and we were very happy.

The price was good, and they were ready the very next day but I was not available to pick them up that day. He of course just copies tap to DVD, no editing. Now I need to find someone who can teach me how to edit them. I have me shortly after birth, then it goes to me home from the service, to my at for or five then my sister in her teens, and then her as a baby.
