The following is a digest of an article from the Washington Examiner. Below the digest is a response from a reader. As each day passes under the Obama administration, America becomes more unrecognizable from the country I grew up in.
I recommend reading "When a Nation Forgets God: 7 Lessons We Must Learn from Nazi Germany" by Irwin Lutzer, for an almost precise road map of what is happening in the U.S. What Lutzer writes is a factual documentation of events, whether you believe in God or not.
I can only hope that there are more freedom loving patriots left than there are supporters of National Socialism, or as it was known in Germany( the National Socialist Party) by the acronym "NAZI" (Nationalsozialismus).
It’s been said a thousand times: Congress had to pass President Obama’s health care law in order to find out what’s in it. But, despite the repetitiveness, the level of shock from each new discovery never seems to recede.
This time, America is learning about the federal government’s plan to collect and aggregate confidential patient records for every one of us.
In a proposed rule from Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the federal government is demanding insurance companies submit detailed health care information about their patients.
(Reader Response) We no longer live the "land of the free" Obama has seen to that. We might be able to turn it around, but first Obamacare has got to be rescinded, the EPA has got to be abolished and the IRS needs to be dismantled and replaced with a national sales tax that everyone pays. The the country would collect money from even the ones here illegally. Without the restrictions on businesses owners would feel better about hiring new employees. And how is it the governments right to tell me what kind of light bulbs I can have in my house? The government needs to get out of our personal business and let us live our lives. Turn the running of each state back to the states, it has over reached in so many issues.

ROTFL. Do you still celebrate the birthday of Robert Welch? You should have moved to Idaho or Montana where this rhetoric might find a more receptive audience.

Well Ortanna Oracle you have revealed your vision of the future if you had your way. All that's left is for you to admit is membership in the American Nazi Party and your hope for a repeat of Kristalnacht and for Iran to start nuclear war by a strike on Israel.
I sure hope you are not part of the educational system.

When I say the Pledge of Allegiance I don't say "under God." But I think I'm a socialist. Or maybe I'm a communist. I don't think that I a nazi because I like gays...and Jews.
Jose, I kind of felt sorry for the beating you've been getting but now I've decided that you are a masochist and you get off on this bashing. Hell, you're more fun than a pants full of ferrets.

Are we seeing the reincarnation of Bill Kearney here? They are either related and/or suffer from the same neuroses.

I understand that Bill has developed a bit of a reputation down there. I don't know because as he was on the rise in the area, I was on the move out of the area. That might be the reason why everyone is giving him a hard time. That said, I ask that you hear me out here.
I find it funny and scary at the same time how someone who clearly knows his history and is trying to warn people about the similarities between what the NAZIs did when they took over and what our Federal government has been/is doing. There's a good quote which escapes me right now, but, in effect, it says that intelligence can't be recognized by those without it.
Instead of mocking someone like williamdanambacpa and showing your ass, one should first look into the claims he or she has made and see if they're unfounded or not. The best way to make sure that what williamdanambacpa is claiming is happening is to mock and bury your head in the sand and take the words of politicians as gospel without looking into them yourself. No matter where you get your news, someone is selling you an agenda. And if you go to the government for answers, you always get what they want you to know, not what is truth or fact.
Let me give you an example. Google "Black Tom Explosion". Read a few articles about it. I'll bet you never heard of it. I'll also bet that if you dig deeper, you will learn that before it occurred, President Wilson made a promise to the American people that he would not lead them into war against Germany during WWI. Yet, he was supplying the allies in Europe with munitions and supplies. Germany knew this. They sent saboteurs to the States and they were successful on several occasions across the country. One of them was the Black Tom explosion. Wilson knew full-well that it was Germany who was behind it and that it was an act of war. Yet, he was up for re-election soon and could not lead the US into war as promised. So, the story was buried as best it could be. Still, Americans knew what was going on and knew who was behind it.
Fast forward to FDR and the attack on Pearl Harbor. Before we do, google "We don't want any more Black Toms." Rossevelt used the Black Tom explosion as an excuse to round up the Japanese.
What's my point? I guess there are a few. 1) if you want to argue politics, learn history; 2) if you endeavor to learn history, do your own research and take no one's word for it but your own; and 3) if someone comes out with something about the past that sounds "out there" and relates it to the present, or compares what's going on in the present to what has happened in the past, remember that the devil is in the details and that before you mock them, you should find out the details of both past and present and make your own decision. Otherwise, you're just regurgitating something a low-life politician has told you and you really aren't interested in fact, truth or being informed.

I agree, lifesaver. But where there's smoke, there's fire, ya know? Like anyone else, my first reaction to hearing something is "who is it telling me?" But even after i dentifyu the person as crazy, unreliable, misdirected, misinformed, malicious, etc., I still try to find the truth of their position, if there is any. Bill may be a local P.I.T.A., but it doesn't mean he's wrong. That's all I'm trying to say. Also, I wrote the defense above before I realized who it was. That said, I stand by it.

They just can't get past who the messenger is long enough to hear the message, I really think that is a small minded mentality but unfortunately many people here have it.

I guess I know where Matt and Spell Checker are coming from if they condone a response such as the above from Mr. Dana. Jest sayin'. As for some of the contentions in Dana's original article, one should be aware of the owner of the Washington Examiner and his political background. He makes the Coors family look like moderate GOP members. Much of the recent reduction in our civil liberties was designed and implemented by Bush after 9/11 when he decided anything goes wrt our personal liberties. To blame this slide on Obama is ignoring recent history. That's not to excuse his actions since 2009, but he inherited the ill-conceived Patriot Act. I predict even tighter surveillance of all of us if the GOP wins in 2012.

First of all Obamacare will fail because if you can't make a doctor accept Medical assistance , then there is no way in hell they can make a doctor accept that other crap . A doctor is a businessman/woman and they have the right to refuse any type of insurance they wish FACT .

If he really bothers you that much, then my best advice is to stop conversing with him. After all you and others here seem to think he crazy and delusional so why not just ignore him. However we both know that you won't be able to refrain so bitching about how he talks down to you won't get you or anyone else any more sympathy from me as you already know what to expect when engaging him.

Excellent Mattc! Those who have bashed Bill as being an ass, in large part presented themselves as an ass doing so. Moose when you or someone like Bill step forward and speak out in this area. The "born and raised" crowd here looks for a reason to shoot them down. It's been like that around here forever and I'm sure allot of other small towns too. Bill's character flaws just give them more fuel to add to the fire. Look at how many times in the last week or two alone someone has mentioned about him not being from here. One himself even lived else where for quite some time and made refrence now thats the pot calling the kettle black...........

Excellent Mattc! Those who have bashed Bill as being an ass, in large part presented themselves as an ass doing so. Then I am guilty as charged, Moose. Those who know me here know I'm pretty easy to get along with and am usually tolerant of others , as long as you don't bash my beliefs and insult me in the process. Then I can go from zero to bitch in about three seconds. I, like FT, do my own research and make my own decisions, and no amount of pontificating from someone with a bad haircut is going to change that.

I'm just not ready to spend my life here arguing with folks I don't even know. I'll jump in occasionally when something strikes a chord. Bill doesn't need or want me to defend him, but I will defend his message. One thing I will never argue with Bill, is finances. Another thing I've found with Bill is, when you speak to him man-to-man, he treats you like one.

The problem is they not only are entangled in the local politics but they are infested into allot of the local companies. Try moving up in an organization like Wellspan or ISP once and having a 19 year old fresh outta high school promoted over you after being there for 15 years because who thier uncle or aunt or mother or father is. One of the reasons I would never work for any of those companies. By the way keep up the good work.

I haven't necessarily made fun of Mr. Dana. I try - in vain at times - to see humor even when I don't agree with the speaker. Take "Nationalsozialismus" for instance. I thought he made it up; you know, a Dr. Seuss kind of word. (Don't start Matt, I know that your sense of humor has died). Frankly, Mr. Dana doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. If he were speaking to a college crowd it might be a different story. But I'm just a dumb old local - you know, paternal and maternal families have been here since the early 1700's dumb. For the record, I don't care if your family has been here 300 years or just moved to the area last week. My family is not entangled in the local politics nor are we infested into a lot of the local companies. Some of our locals have a nasty attitude toward other locals but some of us are happy to see new faces in the community (especially if they're left-leaning). By the way, Mr. Dana suggested reading a book called "When a Nation Forgets God: 7 Lessons We Must Learn from Nazi Germany" by Irwin Lutzer. Um, no thanks. I remember my teachings from Sunday school and church every Sunday when I was younger. If I accept what some of his followers say today most of us are doomed to a fiery death because we don't hate who they hate and look down upon the people they consider to be common and unworthy. In other words - it's their way or the highway. I'll be taking the highway; thank you very much.
