www.nola.com/tv/index.ssf/2011/10/ken_burns_prohibition_opens_wi.htmlEveryones favorite out of towner know it all. Just read the USA weekend story on this and thought there was a lot of hypocracy to be found. Could not find what I read but found this. I have not read it but suspect you will pick up on the same or will find it in other related articles. Time for FOOTBALL!

Please read my post carefully for your answer Come on Nile. You ask if I've read the USA today article, the same article that you can't find. The only think you've provided was the NOLA link and suggest that the hypocrisy will show up there as well. No, it doesn't and like you, I can't find the USA today article.

Without reading the article in USA: I think I know the hypocrisy to which Nile is referring. It is the attempt to inflict the NCG beliefs to a casino (i.e. the buffer bill) to 100% of the populace when in reality the belief is shared by at the most around 30% of the local population, and the problem with 1% or so of problem gamblers, yet fail to see the correlation with prohibition which essentially tried (and miserably failed) to do the same.

So where is the hypocrisy from Burns? I get what you're saying lifesaver, but making a documentary about Prohibition isn't hypocritical when discussing Burns' no casino stance.

Dude, I am watching football and just dabbling in this. I clearly stated that I read the article. I read the hard copy. I could not find it on line so posted another one to kick things off. If I could find a link I WOULD HAVE POSTED IT. I was hoping the hypocracy would show but perhaps not. I also said other like articles may and that I was about to get busy, which I am. Your original post of "I can't find the hypocracy here" was made without finding the article I read nor other related articles that may have. No worries.

In my opinion if you do not think a casino has a place near Gettysburg you are displaying a moral objection to gambling whether you care to admit it or not. The location is just an excuse. Why would you object to something you do not have some sort of objection against?

I am a Steelers fan and yes the game now just kind of sucks. down 10-7 but we have the ball. We should be down 30-0 though the way we have played. If I seemd testy during our exchange I appologize. I wear my love for te Steelers on my sleeve

Burn's quote from the NOLA article:
And there-in lies the rub Blonde. NCG claims not to have an objection to gambling, simply to the location, however take a look at their page(s) and the posts and I get a completely different take. And regardless of whether you are morally opposed to a casino or simply opposed to the location it is hypocritical, and in my opinion unconstitutional, to attempt to inflict beliefs held by a few to 100% of the populace.

And the games on TV suck right now, I hope you have Sunday ticket. Who needs Sunday ticket? I just rolled in from Roanoke and got to watch the Bengals upend Buffalo and enjoyed watching the Eagles lose yet again. And just learned that the choking Tony Romo-led Cowgirls blew a monstrous lead, at home. I hope Jerry enjoyed that. Go Lions!
