By the way, the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg is coming soon enough!
The way the hype is, after that, we should all be able to retire on the money we make from the influx of visitors.

Anyone interested in starting a pool to see how long it is before someone takes out that row of fencing they just put up along 30 from town to the Country Club?

Ya Snooze ya lose. Maryland will beat us to it. Right across the border. I bet it will happen if PA doesn't soon get its act together.

We still need it to bring in new businesses and tourists into this town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will agree with you, we need new business, are we are getting some. But unfortunately most are replacements for businesses that have closed down. The Blue and Gray in the old Plaza building, and Luke’s Grill in where the old beauty shop was on Chambersburg street. The new Cupcake Café on Baltimore Street is going in where there was no business before. But we need businesses that will employ more people. Not that we don’t appreciate the jobs these businesses and other like them bring, but in most cases they are just replacing jobs lost when the old business closed. It would be nice to see some small industry move in. I don’t expect General Motors to establish a plant here that will employ a couple of hundred or maybe even a thousand people, but maybe some smaller operations that may each hire a hundred or so. Since someone has decided that this area is only for the tourist, we need something that will attract tourist or will make them want to stay for a longer period of time. I just can’t believe that anyone is going to make a special trip to get a burger from the Blue and Gray, or to have the cupcakes from the café, and I can’t imagine many people extending their trip just for that. I’m not saying a casino is the only answer, but that is something that would draw people to town from a greater distance. But, also the possibility of a nice water park, or maybe an amusement park. I’m not talking anything on the scale of Kings Dominion or GreatWolf, but another attraction for people. Something that may make them make Gettysburg there vacation destination, and something that may make them want to stay a bit longer. For the really hard-core history student or enthusiast we have the battlefield and the national park. They can spend months walking and driving the battlefield, but what about those with just a casual interest in history? Or the family where only one or two people have the history interest? We need more attractions to draw people here and give them a reason to stay more than just a few hours for the tour, or one night.

There will be a casino much closer than those who have opposed the past two projects want to see one. The thing is, will Pennsylvania and Adams County see most of the benefits from it, or will Maryland and Frederick County be the ones to see the benefits?

I think a water park on the Mummasburg Road would be a magnificent proposition if Mr. Keller is defeated by the NIMBY's in his neighborhood.
If I ever retire (don't ask) I'd donate some retirement money to the cause. If they don't want shit someone needs to give them water...and noisy people...and semi-naked bodies...and lots of cars...and a wide diversity of people. Oh, yes, the water park should be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
I'll bet that Mr. Dana and the rest would beg for chickens then.

Mr. Keller appears to me to have his heels dug in and ready to ride this out. I hope he is successful and gets his farm. While a waterpark might be a nice alternative project I'm afraid that it wouldn't be approved without a zoning change from residential/agricultural to commercial. Unless, that is, he wants to make a waterpark for farm animals. Seeing that there are a lot of horse's asses in the general vicinity though the residents may also be able to enjoy it too. ;D

Along your line of thought, perhaps he should also provide a stable for all of the horse's asses. Then they could simply live in their own manure...instead of slinging it.

A poultry farm on Mummasburg Road will create traffic, drugs, crime, prostitution, gambling, acid rain, diseases and it will ruin families. VOTE NO to the Poultry Farm!

I still despise a goodly number of the NCG crowd. Some did it for the right reasons and I can understand that and even respect that to a degree. Others did what they did completely misinformed, misguided and ignorant. I remain staunchly anti-NCG.

By the way, the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg is coming soon enough! When is the 150th Anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg? Let's see. The battle began July 1 and ended July 3, 1863 so the 150th anniversary is scheduled for September of 2015. Then again, I'm considered to be a fucktard liberal so I might be wrong.

Then again, I'm considered to be a fucktard liberal so I might be wrong. Definition of fucktard, compliments of urban dictionary: fucktard noun, A person of unbelieveable, inexcuseable and indescribable stupidity. (Stupidity being defined as "knowing how and doing it wrong anyway") NOT A CONTRACTION FOR "FUCKING RETARD"! Those who are truly "Retarded" are not responsible for their affliction. True Fucktards are 100% responsible for their situation and provide vast entertainment as they are usually blissfully unaware of their own Fucktardery. Most politicians for example. One who would actually piss on a live transformer. One who would use a live .22 round for a fuse in their pickup truck "just cuz it fits" and then complain about it shooting them in the nuts. He shot himself in the nuts? Geez, what a fucktard! HB, you are a liberal but you are far from a fucktard
