Glad to see former FBI director sorting out the BS from the lies from college officials. In my mind, all 4 cover-up artists should get jail time at least, not to say huge law suits by victims shouldn't name thrm as well as Sandusky.....so much for the "Blue and White" !

I'm surprised that as much as we here on BoroVENT like to discuss issues, the Penn State debacle has been like a Third Rail.
It makes me sick to even read about, and I've pretty much avoided the news about it - other than to know what's going on.
The saddest thing is that all of the STUDENTS are being judged right along with the Criminals. We had the Kent State shootings, the Virginia Tech shootings, and now the Penn State pervert.
When my son applied at Penn State for Engineering, we went to see the department. They were so smug, and such assholes, that I'm glad to say he did not end up going there.
I'll bet that smugness goes away NOW, while they scramble to reestablish their dignity. I truly believe that the atmosphere of the institution, directly affects the way they approach incidences like this one. They seem to handle issues internally, and like most institutions of higher learning, they shield themselves from reality.
Even in our OWN little College, they are an entity unto themselves. As I've said before, the atmosphere of a College is most likely a result of Academia itself. Many Instructors are a product of School Systems from Preschool through Doctorate - and then into Teaching. That Shielding allows for Layers of Insulation from the REAL WORLD!
Little Islands of Education - Veritable Fortresses.
