This is just a reminder to all of you out there that if you are thinking about getting energy efficient replacement windows and doors your time is running out for the tax credit. The Federal Gov. has not extended this program as of now and know ones knows if they are going to.
For some of you that may not understand the T.V. ads that some of the big window companies have on, to get the full $1500.00 tax credit you must have a min. of $5000.00 in materials to do the job if you don't it will be 30% of the total material cost labor is not included.
As far as I know that if you pay for the materials prior to Dec. 31, 2010 you can still get the credit even if your contractor can't get to it until after the first of the year.

Spell checker yes I do them and I would have to come and measure them to get you your price. The tax credit has to do with materials only and if you have paintable wood trim on the outside you might want to look at wrapping it with custom bent aluminum metal so you never have to paint them again.
Dexter you have to keep the bill of sale and there should have been some sort of paper stuck on the door itself to give the energy rateing if not then hopefully the bill will have something on it saying it is. When you go to get your taxes done or if you do them yourself keep that with this years records.
