While watching a program which mentioned that the Indians were not happy with our Mt. Rushmore Monument on their Black Hills, SD mountain, it got me to thinking... which always leads to trouble ;D - Should Obama be added to the mountain as the First Black President?
- Then would we add the First Hispanic President?
- How about the First Asian President?
- Which got me to thinking about the First Native American President!
So, IF this person was born on an Indian Reservation, would he be considered "Born" in the USA? Since they are Sovereign Nations, are they not a territory of the U.S., eligible for Presidential consideration? Too lazy to Google it, or research it... even on Wiki - so I thought I'd throw it out here to annihilate ;D ;D ;D

I don't know about the indian president thing, but Bill Clinton was the first black president. He said so himself.
I wouldn't put Obama up there yet, I would wait for a black president who is good at being president. I'm sure there will be one, it's just not going to be the current one.

I'd be all for putting up the first woman president on rushmore, as long as they weren't a total failure. Same bar as the men, though maybe with a little more leeway for women. Is that sexist? It would be my contribution to affirmative action or gender equality through inequality or whatever all of those other biased programs might be. I'm for it.

Somewhat related, but it is something I have been thinking about for awhile. It seems that the more physically attractive a woman in the political arena is the less she is taken seriously. Does anyone else think this?

Does anyone else think this? I think it is HOW the "package" is presented. A good current example would be the CEO of Yahoo and the COO or CFO of Facebook. Both, IMO, very attractive women. But they present themselves in such a way that you focus on above the neck.

So what you are saying is that... if we could get an Ugly, American Indian, Woman Candidate for President, we'd have it made!
If a not-very-pretty woman should be considered for President, I suggest Barbara Mikulski from MD. She should be at the front of the pack... literally!

If a not-very-pretty woman should be considered for President, I suggest Barbara Mikulski from MD. She should be at the front of the pack... literally! Barbara Mikulski looks like a loveable grandma. I've seen her fired up though so kudos for that Too liberal for my taste on issues such as gun control. We could do worse. Barabara Mikulski is also a Democrat. Call me crazy, but it seems to me that if you want to be taken seriously as a woman you need to be a Democrat and you need to be butt ugly. It seems to me that people tend to dismiss the Right Wing conservative women as crackpots right from the get go. You're a Republican women and attractive, that makes you a crackpot. You're a member of the Tea Party and you are attractive, you're a crackpot. You speak out against the President and you're easy on the eyes you're a crackpot. I was glad to see Barbara Walters go on record and squelch the rumors that Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be leaving The View along with Joy Behar. I wish our Congress and the women of America could share the same view as Barbara. Please note I am quoting the Huffington Post article so my liberal leaning friends will actually read it. ;D ;D ;D www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/11/elisabeth-hasselbeck-view-leaving-barbara-walters_n_2853058.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003
