I'm the one who thought the quality of the tools was cheap, but I definitely do NOT see that as a reason for a business to be unpopular with the township. There is a big market for cheap tools, there has been for a while. If there wasn't, sears wouldn't be scrambling over the last 20 years to cheapen their tools, and we wouldn't see so many suburban harbor freight tool stores.
I can sort of understand the issue with parking spaces, but the whole outdoor advertising thing is ridiculous. Straban township (which I lived in for 18 years and still see several times a year) is NOT exactly fifth avenue or something, and it would do nothing of substance to hurt the area.

Cheap tools, quality tools... that's not the issue at all. In Straban, it's about ANY progress or growth at all. They'd rather see every business fail, and then by attrition, they'll have the effect they're looking for - empty fields. I'd be hard-pressed to see what entity could be allowed in without considerable roadblocks. Possibly a Church - but even that would have to be a "Christian" Church... not some other type, God forbid
